Yesterday, an email came through from a YouTuber, AuroraElements, which said the following –
Hello, Jackie. I’m contacting you because, We Are Era Music BV has falsely copyrighted my recent short on my YouTube, AuroraElements2. And has unfortunately rejected it. Now after reading your blog many times now as I was and still am making a video on this and them. I have come for your help on this. Please help me.
This was my reply –
Heya, you need to APPEAL their rejection which is the final step. Ignore all the warnings that you could lose your channel or that they will sue you – they are REQUIRED to sue you within a few days if they reject your final appeal – and they WON’T because they KNOW their claim is fake. And if they don’t sue you their claim is automatically released.
Trust me – they are not going to waste their money trying to hunt you down to sue you – especially when they know they won’t win. It’s a game of seeing who blinks first and if you don’t appeal, it would be you.
Let me know how it goes.
AuroraElements went ahead and filed an appeal; within 24 hours, she sent me another email:
Subject: “They Released The Claim!!” –
Hiya, Jackie! Thank you so much for everything! For the advice and for making your blog!
It was very helpful and stress relieving knowing I would win the appeal!
In which case! I got the email saying they released their claim!!
Now I can finally relax and not be so stressed.
Thank you again for everything!
I’m so glad it worked out for AuroraElements – and if you’re in the same position, I hope you are emboldened to challenge every fake copyright claim against you.
